FBI discovered secret information about Iran and China in documents at Mar-a-Lago

According to two persons with knowledge of the situation, the FBI discovered documents at the Mar-a-Lago residence of former President Donald Trump that contained sensitive information about Iran and China.

The Washington Post was first to report that the FBI recently searched Trump’s Florida home and club and discovered the intelligence on Iran and China there.

The Post said that “at least one of the documents recovered by the FBI mentions Iran’s missile program,” but NBC News has not corroborated this.
To NBC News, a Justice Department representative declined to comment.
Over 100 of the 13,000 papers that FBI investigators removed from Mar-a-Lago during their August search were classified.

Trump has maintained he declassified any records he possesses and can declassify documents just by thinking about them, and he has denied any misconduct in having the materials at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump stated on his social media platform Truth Social that “The FBI and the Department of “Justice”… are now leaking continuously on the Document Hoax to the Fake News.” this was in response to the Post’s publication of its article. He also reiterated an earlier allegation that documents may have been altered or erased by federal agents.
