According to Louisiana sheriffs, the rapper Mystikal from New Orleans has been taken into custody and charged with rape.
According to the arrest warrant obtained by WBRZ, Michael Lawrence Tyler, 52, a Mystikal by birth, had a friend visit him at his residence in Prairieville, Louisiana, on Saturday. According to WBRZ, Tyler said the woman had stolen $100 from her.
Then, according to court filings, Mystikal is accused of hitting the woman, ripping the braids out of her hair, and stealing her phone and keys to prevent her from leaving his house, reports WBRZ.
Following that, according to WBRZ, Mystikal allegedly raped the victim.
Following the encounter, the woman allegedly called a friend who met her at a hospital in Baton Rouge, according to the court documents obtained by WBRZ. According to court documents obtained by the site, a sexual assault kit was used, and the injuries’ evidence matched the assault the victim claimed to have experienced.
Mystikal is currently detained on allegations of first-degree rape, straightforward robbery, domestic abuse battery, false detention, and straightforward criminal property damage, Ascension Parish Police said .
His detention will be without bond.
In the previous 20 years, Mystikal has been charged twice with sex offences.
According to WBRZ, Mystikal previously served time in prison for abusing his hairstylist in a sexual manner in 2004. He registered as a sex offender after being discharged.
The second allegation of sexual assault surfaced in 2017, at which point Mystikal turned himself in to police because an arrest warrant had been issued for him in connection with an alleged assault that took place at a Shreveport casino. Eventually, those accusations were abandoned.
