Rick Scott is mum on whether he’ll back Donald Trump for president in 2024.

Sen. Rick Scott of Florida, the head of the National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC), steadfastly declined to declare on Sunday if he would back former president Donald Trump in a 2024 reelection bid.

Chuck Todd, the host of NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” questioned Scott on his support for Trump running for president in 2024.

Scott dodged the subject by responding, “There will definitely be a lot of individuals announced.” We’ll see what transpires. Getting a Senate majority is my first priority.

Trump told fans to “get ready” during a rally on Friday in Iowa, teasing that a formal announcement is about to be made.

The former president declared, “I will very, very, very probably do it again to make our country prosperous, safe, and wonderful.”

Scott had some minor criticism for Trump last month after he referred to Elaine Chao, McConnell’s wife and the former secretary of transportation, as “his China-loving wife Coco Chow” and claimed that McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, has a “death wish.”

When questioned about Trump’s remarks in October, Scott responded, “I don’t condone violence, and I hope no one else does either.
Racism is never, ever acceptable, he emphasized.

During that interview, when Bash questioned Republican Governor Ron DeSantis about whether or not he ought to attend a Trump event in Florida, Scott dodged a question on Trump as well.

Everybody makes that decision, Scott retorted. I mean, I understand that President Trump is working to ensure that the Senate regains a majority.

If Republicans are successful in retaking the Senate this Tuesday, Scott declined to say whether he had his sights set on the majority leadership during his interview with NBC News on Sunday.

Scott said, “Tuesday night is my only focus.”
The senator added that he will “certainly” accept the outcomes of Tuesday’s midterm elections.
